WJAX (Cleveland's second radio station) signed on in 1922.
Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. purchased WJAX in 1925 and changed the callsign to WEAR. Shortly afterwards, WEAR was purchased by the owners of co-channel WTAM.

WEAR operated on 770 kHz with a power of 750 watts at the time that the QSL was received on the 21st December 1925.
In 1928 WEAR was absorbed into WTAM.
