WQJ Chicago, Illinois - 1925


WQJ commenced broadcasting on the 17th May 1924.

The station was jointly owned by the Calumet Baking Powder Company and The Rainbo Gardens Ballroom situated on Lawrence Avenue and Clark Street, Chicago. 

WQJ operated on a frequency of 670 Khz with a power of 500 watts and shared air time with WMAQ.

The QSL letter, dated December 17th 1925, was signed by Director and Announcer Jerry Sullivan. 


WQJ was bought out by WMAQ in 1927 and merged with the latter station in 1928.
